Brazil energy efficiency project

 3 December 2011

Last month Carbon Descent was engaged by the British Embassy in Brasilia to assist the Brazilian Government with a project to increase energy efficiency implementation in the residential sector. Since that instruction our staff have been working on outlining UK policy incentives and mechanisms to help inform the Brazilian Government on energy efficiency measures that have been adopted within the UK.

The project is on track to be completed by February 2012 and our Managing Director, Chris Dunham, will be in Brazil in December to outline our initial findings to the key Brazilians institutions who have an interest in energy efficiency programmes. This includes the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Electricity Regulatory Agency, the Energy Planning Agency and EletrobrĂ¡s.

"The audits and the final reports from Carbon Descent were spot on and have given businesses a real road map to follow if they want to reduce their energy consumption over the next year."
