London Borough of Camden Schools Audits
The London Borough of Camden commissioned Carbon Descent to carry out energy and water audits of 49 of its primary schools, nurseries and children's centres to improve their environmental performances. Half of the audits were undertaken by our consultants and the other half was delegated to two contractors which were managed by our team. The assessments captured information on energy use from lighting and heating, energy performance of the buildings and identified the potential for a renewable generation.
Following our assessments we generated a range of measures to improve the sustainability of the schools. We quantified energy or water savings, cost savings and CO2savings for each measure and created a capital spending plan by evaluating the capital expenditure needed for each proposed measure. Ultimately, we produced an independent report for each site identifying a total of 1,500 tonnes CO2 savings across all the schools surveyed.
