Improvements to our BluePrint software

 4 November 2013

One of the functionality requests that we’ve had from users is the ability to use take photos from within BluePrint, tag them and have them appear in the audit report automatically. Over the past few months we’ve been working on building in that functionality.

The idea is that you’re out on site and you spot something such as lights or equipment left on, boiler plant that you want to refer to in the audit or simply a view of the building to go on the front page of the report. In the next release you’ll be able to do just that. A button within BluePrint calls up your tablet’s camera, you take a picture and it’s automatically tagged depending on what part of the Survey data collection form you’re on.

At the reporting stage you can then choose photos from your library of tagged photos and choose to use them as a site photo, a measure related photo or simply to be included in the appendix of the report.

We're hoping to release a new version including this functionality soon.

We’ve also been out on the road ourselves using the software in practice and have identified a number of improvements we’ll be making to speed up the process of data collection within the software.
