Organised in partnership with South Thames College, the event on the 12th of May was held to support efforts to 'green' up the borough and encourage students to take training modules in low carbon technologies.

Chris Dunham was speaking on the UK's Low Carbon Policies.

Four key low carbon areas were up for discussion:

  • Policy
  • Training and skills requirements
  • Green jobs
  • Green communities

Other speakers included Sarah McDermott (Wandsworth Cabinet member for the Environment), Leonie Cooper (Labour Lead on the Environment, Wandsworth Councillor), Helen Clark Bell (Go Green Plus) and Chris Baugh (Deputy General Secretary, Public and Commercial Services Union). The event was chaired by Graham Petersen, UCU Environment Co-ordinator at South Thames College.
