Solar For London

Solar for London was a renewable energy initiative developed by Carbon Descent to simplify the installation of solar water heating systems in London's homes. The scheme aimed to encourage homeowners to use solar energy in their homes and thus to reduce their CO2 emissions.

Through the bespoke scheme, Carbon Descent offered London's homeowners information and independent advice on solar water heating and funding options and established connections to accredited heating engineer partners.

Carbon Descent won an Ashden Award for the Solar for London scheme in 2003 and received recognition from the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone. Working together with all of the 32 London boroughs to ensure maximum success we were able to help over 3,000 people to improve their environmental performance with over 100 solar installations made over the period of the project.
